University of Richmond

Virtual Lab

Many of the services and resources of the MMLL are available online both on campus and around the world. Please contact us if you can't find a resource that you would like to use. If you have problems or question with these materials, consult the help page.

The Virtual MMLL provides information not only through this site but also via the MMLL blog and a Twitter feed.  Subscribe to these feeds for up-to-date information about the MMLL in Puryear and in cyberspace.

Online Audio
Whenever possible the MMLL makes the audio files--and, occasionally, video files--used in coursework available via the campus network.  For legal reasons, you must be on the Richmond network in order to use these files; if you are off campus, you should use the university's VPN connection.

Weekly SCOLA Insta-Class lessons are available as both downloadable files and as podcasts.  Again, you must be on the University of Richmond network for access to these files.

World Television

In partnership with Telecommunications and Boatwright Library's Media Resource Center, the MMLL offers a variety of international television programming throughout the academic buildings.  If you are in an academic building and cannot receive channels 7 - 11, please contact us

Instructions
Do you need to know how to type in a language other than English?  Do you want to add video clips to your PowerPoint presentations?  Are you trying to record an audio file?  The MMLL creates and distributes instructions about everything from multilingual computing to Second Life.  If you are interested in a specific topic and can't find the information you need, contact us.

Podcasts, Wikis, Blogs, and Other Online Resources

The MMLL provides information about technology-enhanced language instruction not only through instructional handouts but also through social technologies to which everyone may contribute.   It also creates and supports class-related websites, podcast feeds, wikis, and blogs.  Some of these resources include:
